After years with another pest control company with little success, we started with Tom. His extensive knowledge in pest management and commitment to our organization was so different than the previous company. Instead of just spraying chemicals, Tom finds ways to prevent the pests from entering and staying. He uses education and prevention methods that work. He has conducted trainings for our residents and staff on how to best prevent problems. He is consistent, responsive, and works really well with all our residents. He provided us with detailed advice on how to correct this and referred us to a reliable contractor. He was professional, direct and on-time. Full disclosure, I worked for Dr. Green at his nonprofit, the IPM Institute of North America for several years. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and is more or less THE MAN when it comes to green pest control (also known as IPM, or Integrated Pest Management), which takes a totally different approach to managing pest infestations by targeting the root problems. An IPM approach often takes a little more work from the homeowner to remedy the conditions that give rise to the pests (including home repair), but it's worth it -- you will not get a \"quick-fix,\" band-aid approach with Dr. Green, you'll get solid recommendations on a safe long-term solution. Baiting and traps are given a priority, and pesticide safety is also considered, so the lowest-risk pesticides for the job are deployed only if necessary--a must if you have children or pets, or are immunocompromised or chemically sensitive.\n\nWhen hiring pest management professionals, as with other contractors in other fields, it can be hard to know if you're really getting an IPM-minded operator, as most of them at least know the importance of appearing green and IPM-oriented. I can assure you resoundingly with Dr. Green that you are. Google the IPM Institute and check out his life's work for proof.
